Kemnitz Angus is a registered Angus herd located on the banks of the Missouri River, Southwest of Platte, SD.

“In 1971, my dad, Gary Kemnitz, purchased his first 12 registered Angus heifers from Sven “Bud” Severson. From those original females, we built a program incorporating Wye, Rito, Emulation and Shoshone genetics.

From the beginning, our focus has been the Angus cow. Every sire selected for use is evaluated first and foremost on the strength of the females in his pedigree. We believe the cow is the foundation of the herd, and our selection priorities reflect that belief: fertility, mothering ability, structural soundness, logevity and a beautiful maternal wedge.”
